A Compact Bandstop Filter Design Using DMS-DGS Technique for Radar Applications

In this study, a novel compact bandstop filter (BSF) by utilizing the defected ground structure (DGS) and microstrip (DMS) techniques are presented. DGS, DMS, compensated capacitors used on both bottom top layers to obtain sharp transition wider stopband. The operating frequency bandwidth of can be comfortably regulated tuning dimensions etched structures. addition parametric studies, an equivalent circuit model proposed is extracted. BSF has insertion return losses better than –1.6 –17 dB in passband, respectively. Moreover, developed covers X-band range stop 10.8–11.8 GHz with rejection 20 dB. Furthermore, measurement simulation results compliance suggested method. very small size 14.28 mm ×× 4 0.508 potential for radar applications its high compactness, low cost, harmonic performance.
